Stop Motion Animation workshop at Cochin


 
 

Image– Valanjambalam & Thrissur center arranged a workshop on Stop Motion Animation at their Institute premises on 26th March 2012. It was conducted by Mr.Vasanthan, Member R&D Dept. Image Group. He initiated the session by creating awareness about Stop Motion Animation with movie reference like Sand Castle (Oscar awarded) and TV commercial of MTS, Blaze, KFC, ICICI etc.Now the students were able to relate and understand  the subject. He later on went on to explain in detail the types of animation like Pixilation, Claymation, Paper cut design, Sand animation & a lot of other experimental techniques.
The second session included the demo of making puppet. He elucidated the importance of visualizing a concept and sketching it out before making the frame work of the puppet. He also demonstrated sand animation and paper cut animation. Once the students were skilled with the techniques he divided them into four teams which included an animator, story teller, artist and two assistant who were asked to make short stop motion animation. The students came out with some remarkable on spot animation which were well appreciated by all.

A One Day Trip to Queensland Amusement Park-Image Velachery




Image-Velachery center organized a One day trip to Queens land amusement park on 17th March 2012. Students participated in full strength. Some of them even bought in their friends and family members. The park located by the chennai-bangalore trunk road, it has around 51 lovely joy rides & water rides, which can be enjoyed equally both by adults and children. The students enjoyed the day thoroughly. This nature of trip helps the students to some leisure and also helps in built better understanding among each other.

IMAGE-ADYAR conducted an Adobe Indesign seminar on 16th of March 2012.

Seminar on “The Importance of Indesign”

The seminar was conducted by Mr.Rangarajan, team coordinator, RR Donnelley. The subject briefing was based on basic work principles of Indesign software and process involved in getting a work ready for printing.
He guided the students with the procedure implicated in preparing a brochure, pamphlet and book materials. He also explained the technical aspects and the work flow of Indesign software, sharing many tips & tricks which included how to speed up working capabilities in a quality manner.
Later he had an interactive session with the students and clarified all their doubts and queries. He also explained the merits of Indesign software .The whole demonstration was done by using the latest version CS5.

Image -Salem center conducted a Visual Effects Workshop on 3rd March 2012




The workshop was presented by Mr.Murugeshvaran, VFX Head, R&D, Image Infotainment Ltd. He initiated the morning session with a detailed description of Compositing and the two main techniques used in it like Keying and Match Moving. He asked two students to enact as he shot the video both in green matte and out door. Later using combustion software he explained the Keying technique by mixing outdoor video and green matte video. He also showcased some movies to make the demo more comprehensible & interesting.




Post lunch session, he explained the technique of Match Moving. Using some students he shot a real video and also developed a 3D character using Maya Software. Later using match moving technique he mixed both the real shot and animated character. He also gave some valuable information on Augmented reality. It was an interactive session in which various doubts were cleared. He finally concluded with a motivational speech on the prospect of visual effects and also advised the students to work hard to achieve their goal. The students had a wonderful session and were ardently motivated by the presentation. It was a real time experience.
